Presentation of IPM-International
IPM Cameroon is the national representation of IPM International, whose headquarters is in Neuchâtel, Switzerland (www.ipm-int.org) according to the opening authorization of the Cameroonian government since October 2012. Through the Center for Psychotraumatology and Mediation of Yaoundé in Elig Edjoa, Renaprov building, IPM Cameroon acts in accordance with the strategic plan defined by the headquarters.
Specifically in the different sectors and specialties of mental health, IPM Cameroon pursued the following objectives:
Assist Cameroon as a reference country in the CEMAC sub-region for the mental health and humanitarian program through pilot studies and surveys, the organization of conferences and major scientific meetings related to global mental health.
Promote university, postgraduate and continuing training of professionals in the screening and care of those with mental health problems.
Provide vulnerable populations, children-adolescents-adults, men in uniform, healthcare personnel, first aiders, and all workers called upon during armed conflicts and suffering from psychological trauma by offering them a platform and appropriate care for their recovery.
Provide medical, psychological and psychiatric care for victims of war trauma, terrorism, internally displaced persons and refugees as well as other victims of sexual assault, criminal, psychological abuse and rape, etc. Treat the mentally ill and other victims of invisible injuries (abuse, rape, etc.) with respect, dignity and without stigma.
- Assist the countries where our subsidiaries are located or that request it for the implementation of Mental Health and Humanitarian Medicine Programs through pilot studies and surveys, the organization of conferences and major scientific colloquiums related to Global Mental Health and Transcultural Psychiatry in social and humanitarian crises.
- Promote university, postgraduate and continuing training of professionals in the screening and care of those who have mental health problems and/or primary, secondary, acute or chronic psychiatric disorders.
- Provide vulnerable populations, children-adolescents-adults, the elderly, professionals of the police, the gendarmerie and national or international defense, healthcare personnel, first aiders, personnel working in national, international associations, NGOs or all workers called upon during armed conflicts and suffering from psychological trauma by offering them a platform and appropriate care for their recovery.
- Promote Telemedicine, Telepsychiatry and Digital Medicine at the level of our subsidiaries or countries that request it from our experts and our expert collaborators in these fields
- Provide medical, psychological and psychiatric care for victims of war trauma, terrorism, internally displaced persons and refugees as well as other victims of sexual assault, criminal, psychological abuse and rape, etc.
- Treat the mentally ill and other victims of invisible injuries (abuse, rape, etc.) with respect, dignity and without stigma.
- Promote the opening of Family, Civil and Legal Mediation Clinics at our subsidiaries or in countries that request them from our experts and our expert collaborators in these fields or in countries that request them from our experts and our expert collaborators in these fields.
